The Redgrave Community Society Management Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of a Management Couple for the Cross Keys. Miss Georgina Earland will be joining as General Manager, and Miss Naomi Miller-Howard as the Chef.  Georgina and Naomi have worked together for several years at the prestigious four star Pelham House Hotel in Lewes, Sussex.

Prior to Pelham House, Georgina was a trainee general manager for the Nelson Coffee Company.  She joins us with a wealth of experience in the co-ordination of events, as well as front of house, and bar and cellar management experience.

Prior to Pelham House Hotel, Naomi was previously head chef at Revolución de Cuba and prior to that, a private senior chef for the NAAFI in Germany, cooking for high profile functions including visiting royalty and German diplomats.

We now look forward to enjoying their undoubted professionalism and expertise here at the Cross Keys and wish them a warm welcome.  They will commence employment on Monday 22nd January to help with the planning and preparation of the Cross Keys prior to its opening.

Further details on the official opening will be advertised in due course.

Following a long wait since originally submitting our request for “Advance Assurance” to HMRC that 30% tax relief may be claimed by tax paying investors on their shares or loan stock for the purchase of the Cross Keys, we have just received their approval!

This positive news means that, once the Cross Keys has been trading for four months, we can apply for the paperwork so all tax paying investors will be able to reclaim 30% of the sum they invested off their tax liability for the year.

Nothing needs to be done at this stage: Redgrave Community Society Limited will issue investors with the relevant paperwork for submission to HMRC in due course.

Prior to the downstairs refurbishment, there will be a low-key open evening to celebrate the purchase of the Cross Keys with a limited licensed bar.
Date: Saturday 23rd December
Time: 5:00pm – 11.30pm

Hoping to see you there at some stage during the evening for a celebratory Christmas drink!

Progress and Plans

As a Committee, we are delighted with the progress which has been made so far, and are most grateful for the enthusiastic help we have received from so many volunteers.

The focus of our efforts is currently the first floor of the building which will provide private accommodation for either a Manager or Chef, or possibly both, if we can find a suitable couple.

Prior to commencing work on the downstairs refurbishment it is our hope that we might be able to open the pub for a low-key evening, with a simple bar, just before Christmas. However, there are several legal requirements which we have yet to overcome to make this possible. As soon as we are in a position to confirm a date we will let you know.
